Los Angeles County Department of Health Services is one of the US's largest publicly supported health systems. The department includes three general acute care hospitals, a rehabilitation hospital (Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, which has some 400 beds), two ambulatory care centers, and several community health clinics. The system is the main provider of health care for the area's poor and uninsured. It provides general medical and surgical care and is affiliated with the medical school at USC.
