Who We Seek The Hispanic Federation seeks an Immigration Program Coordinator to provide direct support to HF’s Immigration Department. The Immigration Program Coordinator will drive the department’s community outreach efforts and manage HF’s existing citizenship caseload. The position will also work interdepartmentally and support payment processing for nonprofits working within HF’s network of service providers. The position provides natural opportunities to learn and requires the ability to remain flexible and adaptable around work assignments. The successful candidate will have an interest and some exposure to immigration programming and case management and have an interest in nonprofit administration. The coordinator will be required to have a high attention to detail and will work well with multiple deliverables as assigned by the Director for Immigration Programs. The position is a hybrid role and will require onsite presence at least 50% of the time (totaling 10 days a month) and will work under the supervision of the Director for Immigration Programs. Reports to: Director for Immigration Programs Position Location: New York City Status: Full Time, Regular Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide outreach assistance by carrying out the following responsibilities: Program Administration * Serve as the first point of contact for HF network members as it relates to immigration programs and service delivery; work closely with Director to support communications as questions arise. * Manage data and paperwork for HF’s contracts with nonprofit and service providing network members, support in submission of all paperwork and review documentation for completeness and correctness. * Support Hispanic Federation’s immigration programs with drafting program reports, preparing for site visits and providing program updates. * Review financial scholarship applications. * Support additional administrative duties as tasked. Outreach Support * Coordinate immigration town halls, citizenship drives, consultation days, community workshops, hotline initiatives, etc. * Correspond with member agencies for collaboration with immigration activities. * Conduct outreach and recruit volunteers for upcoming immigration activities. * Facilitate speaking engagements with internal and external partners. * Develop informational resources to promote on HF’s website and social media platforms. * Refer individuals to member agencies for immigration services. Legal Support * Assist Director with managing pending cases and properly maintaining all files. * Update client log and ensure all electronic files are maintained regularly. * Notify clients of upcoming appointments and provide interview prep as needed. * Support team in drafting policy memos, testimonies, and letters of support. *********************************** Required Skills and Qualifications *********************************** * Bachelor’s degree required, a focus on public policy, government, or political science preferred. * At least two (2) years of related experience working with nonprofit administration and supporting community outreach and events. * Experience working with state or local public sector funding (specifically NYC DYCD, DOHMH, or ONA) and managing vouchering and grant reporting is an asset. * Must have an interest in immigration law and services, willing to become DOJ certified and attend professional development training on immigration law. * Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other programs and operating systems required. * Excellent communication skills with strong research and writing experience required, proficiency in written and spoken Spanish an asset. * Must possess strong organizational skills and an attention to detail. * Experience with community engagement and direct outreach with people of diverse backgrounds along with an understanding of New York City's diversity is an asset. * Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with staff at all levels and with diverse communities. * Experience with file/data management a plus. * Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines. * Exposure to managing budgets and financial tracking process. * Experience presenting and with public speaking is required. * Demonstrated commitment to advancing the Hispanic Federation’s values, mission, and goals. Compensation The salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000 and is commensurate with experience. Compensation includes fully subsidized medical, dental, vision insurance, access to flexible spending for medical and transportation, and a 403 (B) retirement plan with match after 6 months of service.
