The Impact You Will Make This individual will be responsible for working with inventors and business stakeholders on a variety of technologies in the drug delivery combination product space, and will contribute to expanding and maintaining an intellectual property portfolio for Kindeva’s multiple drug delivery platforms. Essential Job Functions: Conduct invention disclosure meetings with internal technical teams. Strategize with the inventors, management, and other colleagues to execute Kindeva’s IP protection strategy. Assist in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications including analyzing office actions, proposing response strategies, and assisting with responses to office actions. Perform initial patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and assist counsel in drafting assessments. Provide training to non-IP colleagues in topics such as requirements for confidentiality, patentability, trade secret protection, trademark protection, and other IP topics. Manage company’s overall IP portfolio. Maintain records of Kindeva Intellectual Property in internal tracking tools. Engage external counsel on global Intellectual Property matters. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum years of experience: 5+ Bachelor’s Degree required. Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry or Electrical Engineering preferred. 5+ years of experience managing intellectual property matters, including prosecution, freedom-to-operate and due diligence activities. Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm setting is a plus. Demonstrated understanding of USPTO and global patent and trademark prosecution processes. Demonstrated ability to perform IP searches. Agent registered to practice before the USPTO. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work independently in a constantly evolving environment. Experience in the medical device or Pharmaceutical industry. Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications. #LI-Remote View More
