National Telecommunications and Information Administration

As the Executive Branch agency principally responsible for advising the President on telecommunications and information policy issues, NTIA's mission has never been more important. NTIA's programs are focused on expanding broadband Internet access and adoption in America, expanding the use of spectrum by all users, and ensuring that the Internet remains an engine for continued innovation and economic growth. These goals are critical to America's competitiveness in the 21st century global economy. To further its mission, NTIA is engaged in protecting the vital federal government operations that use spectrum while also supporting the growth of commercial wireless broadband and technologies in America. Many federal agencies rely on the use of spectrum, a limited resource, to execute their core missions. There is also increasing demand for spectrum to meet the wireless broadband needs of consumers and businesses, paving the way for continued innovation and economic growth. OCC provides legal support to NTIA leadership, components, and programs. This includes legal advice and counsel on the powers, duties, and responsibilities of the agency; its relationship with other government departments and agencies, Congress, industry, and private organizations; and the development and administration of NTIA policies and programs. OCC responsibilities also include legal support for NTIA's efforts to connect everyone in America to high-speed, reliable, and affordable Internet service. View More Arrow
